LEAPIN’ Outreach Center “The Vision”
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Loving Each And every Person In Need
Overview
LEAPIN’ Outreach Center (LOC) is a charitable organization currently serving in the area of “needs assistance”. We operate in the Marion, Ohio area and exercise no limitations or restrictions on anyone based on sex, marital status, race, creed, religion, age, familial status, physical or mental disability, color, or national origin. LOC is incorporated in the State of Ohio, with the proper articles being filed with the Secretary of State. We are currently in the process of becoming a 501(c)(3) organization duly recognized by the United States Government. LOC is a “not-for-profit” entity subsisting solely on financial and tangible goods donations. Our day-to-day operations are staffed and managed by a volunteer work force, and we are governed by an advisory Board of Directors.
Mission Statement
To show and share the love of Jesus Christ by helping to meet the needs of those less able to meet those needs on their own. We will do this in a manner befitting the heart of Him who called us to serve, without question or judgment of those whom we serve. We will assist by having available clothing, personal and hygiene items, food or whatever we can provide to match the needs of that person or family. In doing so, we strive to ease the physical needs of those who we serve to allow for better development of their spiritual, mental and emotional needs as well.
Core Values
The core values of LEAPIN’ Outreach Center are Christ centered. The premise for our outreach can be summed up in the following words of Christ found in Matthew 25:
“For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.” “Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’”
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’”
and
Matthew 22:39
… ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
The fact that any one person that comes to LEAPIN’ and expresses a need means that the need is genuine. We assist without any obligation on the part of the recipient and we do not require those we serve to explain their conditions.
We offer love and understanding and strive to help the person move ahead and share with him or her the tools that will help them on their journey.
Method
We currently are focused on the immediate physical needs and concerns of the person and work to meet clothing, food, household items, furniture and personal hygiene articles. We work with many local and regional assistance organizations, governmental and otherwise, to direct the person towards the most beneficial service available. We offer spiritual support as well, with one-on-one prayer and conversation.
